Please be advised that we’re currently experiencing difficulty delivering email to Microsoft domains including outlook.com, hotmail.com and live.com.

A couple of days ago, Microsoft’s automated system decided to block our main outbound mail server which handles email messages from oaSES.  This was because it determined that part of our ISP’s network was on their block list (even though it acknowledged our server was not).  This is about as ridiculous as saying to one Comcast user that you can no longer access the internet because another Comcast user on the other side of town has done something wrong.

Needless to say, we’ve been working tirelessly since discovering this to contact Microsoft (who have not responded) and to mitigate the issue using their automated tools (which has been unsuccessful).

We’ve joined no fewer than two of their programs for anti-spam, and have appealed.  We have yet to receive a response.

As background, there’s a “Blacklist” of servers maintained by a number of anti-spam organisations around the world.  Most email systems use one or more of those.  All our servers are clear on all those blacklists.

In the meantime, the only work-around is to have those users with affected email accounts switch to someone like gmail.com.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but as I hope we’ve explained, the situation is beyond our control.

2. Generic Invoicing

The words Supplemental Education Services Tutoring have been removed from the oaSES District Invoice and replaced with Tutoring Services to reflect the renaming of services around the country following the waivers.

3. Private Tutoring Default

As more of our customers diversify and switch to private tutoring it is now possible to default your oaSES database to save each new student as a private student automatically. You can still select SES or Grant students but the automatic save would be as a private student. If you would like this configuration switched on please submit a ticket requesting default to private student save.

4. Emailing Private Invoices and Statements

It is now possible to email private invoices and statements directly from the Customer/Bill to Party’s AR page. It will default to the email address in the record but can be over-typed or added to.

5. Automatic field fill on new Bill to Parties

When creating a new Bill to Party in the private billing module if you select the student first, before completing any information oaSES will bring across address, phone and email information from the student record. Then fill in any information, such as the Bill To name that did not come across.
